OUR STORY

Running shouldn’t require expensive gym memberships, or waiting for daylight. LIT Run exists to change that.

Born from one woman’s experience of frustration and fear running through dark, unfamiliar streets with poor lighting she didn’t feel safe enough to go through. LIT Run is creating a new way to move through our cities: together, informed, and empowered. We use community-led knowledge to highlight safer running routes, reduce the mental load of “will I be safe if I go out now?”, and make it easier for women and people from marginalised genders to build movement into their lives on their own terms.

LIT Run especially champions those who are most impacted by unsafe streets: women of colour, LGBTQ+ women, disabled women, people from marginalised genders and those on low incomes. Feeling safe outside should never be a privilege, it should be a given.

OUR FOUNDER

Coralie Ayala (She/Her)
Founder & Creative Lead, LIT Run

Coralie Ayala is a London based digital marketing strategist and founder of LIT Run, a
safety and community-led running app for women and gender‐marginalised people.

With over eight years of experience in creative communications, Coralie has built a career
using storytelling to drive awareness, spark empathy, and inspire action on social issues
including women’s safety, sustainability, and the rights of Latin American communities.

Born in Madrid with Colombian roots, she blends her multicultural perspective with a
commitment to social impact through art and technology. Her journey into tech and creation
of LIT Run was born from Coralie’s own experiences running through London’s streets and
confronting the constant mental load women carry when navigating public spaces. What
began as a personal reflection on safety and freedom grew into a mission to design a
platform that protects, connects, and empowers.

Today, LIT Run is building an inclusive community where safety and solidarity go hand in hand, challenging systemic barriers and reimagining what it means to run freely. Through LIT Run, Coralie is reimagining running as an act of freedom, not fear. The app brings together technology, accessibility, and community spirit to help runners connect, learn and stay safe.

For Coralie, LIT Run isn’t just about fitness, it’s about liberation, collective care, and rewriting
the experience of movement. Her mission is simple: to help everyone feel seen, supported,
and free to move through the world without fear.
